Alongside his private work undertaken through Learning to Win, Pete also acts as Lead Sport Psychologist (North of England) for the English Institute of Sport (EIS) based in Sheffield. Within his role at the EIS, Pete currently acts as Lead Sport Psychologist for the Great Britain Boxing team and has travelled with the team to major competitions since 2007. Pete has also previously worked with the Great Britain Judo team as Lead Sport Psychologist, with top 16 professional snooker players, professional golfers and many others.
Alongside his work in elite sport, Pete has also provided consultancy support within both Corporate and Education arenas. In his work in these sectors, Pete has provided 1-1 and group support as a Performance Coach, delivering a diverse range of interventions such as "Finding Performance Edges in Recruitment" and "Work-Life Balance & Wellness in Education".
In recent times, Pete has provided expert psychology analysis in the media across a range of sporting contests, including:
- Acting as resident sport psychologist for the BBC’s coverage of the 888.com World Snooker Championships;
- Writing a series of articles for The Times in relation to the psychology of sporting events such as the FIFA World Cup and the Barclays Premiership
- Working with Olympic Gold medallist Jonathan Edwards for Jonathan’s Radio 4 programme looking into the use of hypnosis, sport psychology and NLP within sport
Pete is a Chartered Sport Psychologist with the British Psychological Society, an accredited Sport Psychologist with BASES and a Certified Trainer of NLP with the Northern School of NLP.
